Iran War & Masjidul Aqsa – Don’t Lose Focus!
Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said in a lengthy Hadith: “…One Salaah in the Masjid of Baytul Muqaddas (Masjidul Aqsa) is better than five hundred Salaahs elsewhere.” (Mu’jamul Kabeer)
Our intention of penning this article is not to discuss the Iran-Israel-USA war, nor to go into who is right and who is wrong, nor to explain the bombs used by each of these countries, nor to detail the destruction incurred by each country. Our stance in this war is or will be structured around what our senior Ulama-e-Haq of South Africa did or will offer. We specifically mention the words ‘senior’ and ‘Ulama-e-Haq’ to discount JUSA, UUCSA and ALL their allies who generally have a soft-spot for Shi’as, as this war has also got to do with Aqeedah and love for the Sahaabah (Radhiyallahu anhum).
This brief article of ours is intended to remind, refresh and alert the Ummah of not getting caught in the distraction caused by the Iran-Israel-USA war by forgetting Masjidul-Aqsa – the First Qiblah.
Let it not be that suddenly, due to following the chronological order of events and bombs of Iran, Israel and even the USA, we forget the plight and the volatile situation Masjidul-Quds is facing.
Do we know that simultaneously with the start of the Iran-war, as all eyes were made to focus on this ‘new war’, the doors of Masjidul-Aqsa were CLOSED, resulting in the CLOSURE of Masjidul-Aqsa? Yes, just like how JUSA/UUCSA SHUT the doors of the Masaajid prior to lockdown in South Africa, the doors of Masjidul-Aqsa had been closed for almost an entire week!
Do we know, that since Sunday, 22 June 2025, the doors of Masjidul-Aqsa were once more CLOSED by Israel? This means that apart from two or three days, Masjidul-Aqsa was closed for most of the days since 13 June 2025!
While this is a reality, let it not be a memory! Let it not be forgotten! Let the Iran-Israel war not be a distraction to what actually supposed to matter the most to us Muslims – the condition, safety and state of Masjidul-Aqsa! As members of the Ahlus-Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah, we are not supposed to get carried away nor get affected at the Iran-war, as stated above, due to Aqeedah. Regarding the condition of Masjidul-Aqsa, we are supposed to FEEL THE PAIN, CRY and resort to A’maal! Waking up for Tahajjud and making special Du’as for Palestine, Gaza and Masjidul-Aqsa are simple things we are supposed to do. If we can’t get up at Tahajjud to cry and make Du’a, then we should do so at any other time during the day and night. Let not the Iran-war distract us from doing what we are supposed to do!
Have we made Du’a for Masjidul-Aqsa in the last 24 hours? Or has our focus fully shifted to the Iran-war, at the expense of forgetting about Masjidul-Aqsa, the First Qiblah?!
