Cooking Tips For Barkat In Food

The below article is copied and slightly edited:

Have wudhu whilst cooking-a person in wudhu is safe from shaitaan (devils and evil spirits), wudhu not only cleanses one externally but it purifies us internally as well by washing our sins off.

Recite Surah Fatiha and blow over the food. Surah Fatiha is known as “As-Shifaa” (cure), which means it can cure sickness and ward off evil.

Have the intention of cooking food solely for the pleasure of Allah and not for people’s praises and compliments- doing so, the cooking will be counted as ibaadat and one will be getting rewards, also, if the people don’t like the food then you won’t feel so bad because you made the food to please Allah. But if they do like the food then you will get both praises from people and the reward from Allah.

Keep your head & hair covered- not only to save oneself from the embarrassment of having someone pull out a hair from the food but to keep the angels of mercy present too.

Say BISMILLAH when beginning – Allah will fill the food with barkat & noor (Devine Blessings and divine light).

Always check the ingredients and be conscious of halaal & haraam- the one who consumes a single morsel of haram food, his/her ibadat (worship) for 40 days is not accepted.

Do lots of dhikr and recite durood while cooking – the love of Allah and Rasulullah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam will enter in the hearts of those who eat the food.

Recite the Beautiful Names of Allah while cooking and it will stop arguments and fights between husband and wife and family or anyone that eats of the food.

Have the pious people partake of the food- because the pious are the friends of Allah and their Du’as on your behalf can be readily accepted.

Do not waste anything, not even a few grains as Allah hates Israaf (wastage) and this causes reduction in the Ni’mats (favours).

When eating any food that was liked by Rasulullah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam e.g dates, meat, thareed, pumpkin, vinegar etc, make niyyat of the Sunnat and gain the numerous rewards of following the Sunnat .

Think of the blessings of Allah that He is the one who has given you the ability to cook and it is He who puts taste in the food.

Have your servants partake of the food too.

Say Alhamdulillah upon completing as Allah made you the reason of satiating hunger and your ability to do so was from Allah.

Please share with the women of your homes and with your friends as they are spending a lot of time in cooking. So Make the whole process of Cooking into an Ibadah & gain rewards.

May Allah Reward us all with good ….
