Salaah With Bermudas Or Three Quarter Pants
QUESTION: Is it permissible to wear a three quarter trouser? What is the status of Salaah with such a trouser? What about wearing Bermuda (or three quarters) under one’s Kurtah and reading Salaah like this? Is wearing Bermuda (or three quarters) by Mudarriseen (students of Deen) under the Kurtah and attending classes, fine?
ANSWER: Wearing a Bermuda pants is not permissible in view of it being a specific style of the Kuffaar. Therefore, it is not fine to perform Salaah with it despite the validity of the Salaah. Salaah with such a lewd Kuffaar style pants incurs sin instead of reward.
The question is: Why does a Muslim incline to this Kuffaar style? It is abnormal for a Muslim to adopt this type of pants.
The Ustaad should not permit such pants. Students should not be allowed to corrupt their minds and hearts with Kuffaar styles.
Thus, three quarter trousers such as a Bermuda pants is not permissible. It is Kuffaar style. Emulating Kuffaar styles is Haraam.
