The night of Eid-ul-Fitr is called ‘Laylatul-Jaa’izah’, which means the night of prize giving.
Regarding the nights of Eid, Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said:
“The person who stays awake on the nights of the two Eids, hoping for reward from Allah, his heart will not die on the day when all hearts will die.” (Ibn Majah)
Meaning, on Qiyaamat’s Day, such a person’s heart will not feel any fear, etc. (Allah knows best)
A small portion of this night should be reserved for extra (Nafl) Ibaadat to gain the benefit mentioned in the Hadith.
