If one is wearing the burnoose, ensure the length is visibly above the ankles. An onlooker shouldn’t doubt this. Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said that whatever of a male’s garments is below the ankles, will be in Jahannam (Bukhari Shareef and Muslim Shareef).

When the dressing of the Kuffar is worn, Zulmat (darkness) falls on the heart, and this darkness then becomes apparent in the person’s character, actions, and speech.
An attribute of the dress of the Kuffar is immodesty and indecency. It destroys the inherent modesty and shame of a person. Very quickly, the nature of a person becomes spoiled – inclining towards immodesty and indecency.
In complete and stark contrast to this mindset and approach of the disbelievers is the way of Islam. Islam teaches us that “No matter where you are – even if you are in Rome – do as Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) did.”
