BE AWARE WHO YOU ENTRUST YOUR QURBANI MONEY TO

Allah Ta’ala has blessed many South African Muslims with wealth. Many have surplus wealth which results in Qurbani becoming Waajib (obligatory) upon them. Therefore, Alhamdulillah, such individuals carry out their Waajib Qurbani.

While the best way to perform the Ibaadat of Qurbani will be to do Qurbani in one’s home / yard, there are other ways in vogue within our communities for this great Ibaadat. Insha Allah, if Allah Ta’ala permits, we will discuss that at another time.

For now, we would like to remind all those who opt to send their Qurbani to other countries, be wary to whom you entrust your Qurbani monies to as well as the Waajib Ibaadat of the act of Qurbani.

The recent past history has shown that not all individuals, organisations and charity foundations etc. who claim they have various Qurbani operations, keep up to this. Allah Alone knows where the monies go to.

Thus, it is our advice, that as far as possible, do your own Qurbani where you will at least be present to see the slaughtering. If due to circumstances, this cannot be done, then let your Waajib Qurbani be done by someone reliable and responsible.

Remember, if the organisations, Qurbani project teams, individuals etc. to whom Qurbani monies are sent do not discharge your Qurbani, your Qurbani will NOT be made. If it was a Waajib Qurbani, one will be sinful for not doing one’s Qurbani.

Generally, prior to Qurbani, some individuals and even organisations go door-to-door and claim they will be doing Qurbani in certain villages and countries, thereby collecting money. Kindly be cautious in this regard, as some of these collectors are not genuine.
