Kifaayatul-Mufti Brands Omar Sulaiman’s Beard As HARAAM! Re: JUSA & Omar Sulaiman (Part 5)

JUSA & Omar Sulaiman (Part 5)

Kifaayatul-Mufti VS Ml Bham

Ml Bham’s Go-To-Kitaab Also Disagrees With Omar Sulaiman!

Does Ml Bham possess Fahm-e-Saleem or Fahm-e-Qaleel?

“Knowledge is indeed part of your religion. So be careful as to whom you accept your matters of Deen from.” (Hazrat Ibn Sireen Rahimahullah)

Fahm-e-Saleem – means sound understanding. This is very important for students studying to become Ulama as well as for qualified Ulama. Together with the need to understand the correct Mataalib of the Kutub they study, they have to keep the pleasure of their Asaatizah, to gain a healthy level of Fahm-e-Saleem. One sign of them possessing Fahm-e-Saleem is that their life and actions conforms to the Shari’ah.

Fahm-e-Qaleel – this is the opposite of the above. Another word for this is ‘Fahm-e-Naaqis’, which means deficient or incomplete understanding. Aalim students and scholars whose actions don’t conform to the Ilm they’ve studied, fall under this category.

The reason for bringing up these points here is that in our previous article (part 4) of this ‘JUSA & Omar Sulaiman’ saga detailing the folly and naivety of JUSA’s Ml Bham as well as his mission behind importing the chap Omar Sulaiman, we quoted the Kitaab ‘Kifaayatul-Mufti’. This wonderful Kitaab will be found in the Kutub-Khanahs of almost all the Darul-Iftas. Many Muftis may be in possession of this astonishing Kitaab in their personal capacity.

The point we wish to highlight is that in last year’s SAUF Fitnah in Zambia, Ml Bham was at pains to steal support from the works of our Akaabireen for his anti-Islamic interfaith involvement. And for gaining such ‘support’, he was quick to reference this very same Fatwa Kitaab – viz. Kifaayatul-Mufti. Now, whether what he said really conformed to what is found in the Kitaab or not, we shall Insha Allah explain in another article. The simple point in this article here is that Ml Bham’s selective quotations to suit his mission of the Americanization of Islam in South Africa and Southern Africa (re: SAUF), is too obvious and too bright not to be seen. Even a blind man will ‘see’ how Ml Bham is manipulating things to achieve this Shaitaani agenda, by hook and crook.

For instance, when Shaykhul-Hadith, Moulana Fazlur-Rahmaan Saahib brought to their attention some points of their anti-Islamic activities in their very own Bukhari Jalsah in December 2023, then Ml Bham who was the translator, selectively did NOT translate those points into English! This makes one wonder as to whether Ml Bham’s Urdu is even up to a Fahm-e-Saleem level – a level of him understanding – or is it on a Fahm-e-Qaleel/Naaqis level. And truly, this clearly showed one and all Ml Bham’s manipulation of the words of the Haq offered by the senior Shaykhul-Hadith in JUSA’s very own function!

Coming back to our point: in Ml Bham’s SAUF Fitnah conference, while on the one hand he quoted Kifaayatul-Mufti, to show the Ulama there that his evil doings are ‘supported’ by the writings in Kifaayatul-Mufti, why now suddenly Ml Bham casted a blind eye to the very same Kitaab which states that TRIMMING or shaving the beard is HARAAM. This is exactly what Omar Sulaiman’s beard is – trimmed to perhaps a number one or two which is HARAAM as per Kifaayatul-Mufti! Yet, Ml Bham either opted to remain blind, or simply didn’t make extensive Mutaala’ah of Kifaayatul-Mufti to discover Mufti Kifaayatullah’s clear and unambiguous words pertaining to a trimmed bearded chap. Or is it that Ml Bham only reads the Kutub with the sole purpose of finding so-called ‘support’ for his un-Islamic activities?

The Khatm-e-Bukhari and Kifaayatul-Mufti issues are enough to see Ml Bham’s double-standards! When he wants support for going, sitting and preaching at Kufr interfaith meetings, his sight returns to find some text in Kifaayatul-Mufti, but when he calls and invites, associates and endorses Omar Sulaiman’s attempts to Americanize Islam in South Africa, he suddenly becomes blind to the text in clear writing in the very same Kitaab.

If one argues that he may have advised Mr Omar the Faasiq – as per the view of the Fuqahaa of our Deen – then the question still begs, “Then too, why did Ml Bham allow for the American imported Omar Sulaiman to address the Ulama if Mr Omar’s beard is classified as HARAAM in Ml Bham’s go-to-Kitaab, viz. Kifaayatul-Mufti?”

The least Ml Bham could have done was to not allow the imported chap, Omar Sulaiman, a podium to address the Ulama which he, Ml Bham officially invited the Ulama to attend under JUSA’s letterhead which was officially signed by Ml Bham.

Let us revisit the clear text of Kifaayatul-Mufti which brands the trimmed beard of the import American Omar Sulaiman whose tour to SA was truly to cause disunity, confusion and modernism, all of this endorsed by JUSA and specifically Ml Bham:

“Trimming or shaving the beard is Haraam. By ‘trimming’ it is meant that a person trims it to such an extent that less than a fist is remaining. (The keeping of the beard to) the length of one fist is proven from Ahaadith” (Kifaayatul Mufti)

A scholar who possesses Fahm-e-Saleem, will firstly not dig out text to support his un-Islamic activities such as interfaith, praying under Crosses, etc. while at the same time, ignore a simple straightforward written Fatwa of his Akaabir regarding the action of someone – Omar Sulaiman’s trimmed beard in this context – who is invited to address the Ulama of the country. Doing this is indeed a glaring sign of a scholar’s lack of Fahm totally! It can’t even be called Fahm-e-Qaleel or Naaqis. It’s actually called Adm-e-Fahm (no understanding at all)! May Allah Ta’ala bless us all with Fahm-e-Saleem, Aameen.

To be continued, Insha Allah…
