QUESTION: A Masjid which was recently renovated, has the following information sent out in the form of a video with a woman’s voice explaining the aspects:
1. Calling on all mothers and future mothers of the town to a ladies only Masjid open day wherein the Masjid can be viewed by ladies.
2. The viewing slots are about three, spreading over two days.
3. One slot in particular is at night, from 9pm to 10.30pm.
Are such ladies only Masjid viewing/open days allowed since only ladies wil attend, hence Purdah will be maintained? Jazakallah
ANSWER: This is indeed a new Fitnah that will mushroom in other communities soon!
The answers as per the order in the question follow hereunder:
1. There is no such a day allowed in the Shari’at. Women are not allowed to attend the Fardh Salaah, so why should they go and view the Masjid?
2. There is no need to allocate viewing slots since in the first place women shouldn’t be called for such an occasion.
3. Imagine, a slot so late at night! When even the men will be back home long ago from Esha, the wives and future mothers will be heading towards the Masjid! When the Angels and pious Jinn engross in Ibaadat at night inside the Masjid, their Ibaadat will be interfered by the entering of ladies. The Shari’at has made the house the Masjid of a woman. The presence of the mothers at home will result in the keeping of an eye on their children. Imagine, the mothers will not be able to keep an eye on their children who may get up to mischief all becaue the mothers went to a ladies only Masjid open day!
Will ladies who are in their menstrual cycles also go for this open day? If so, they are committing double Haraam if they enter the Masjid – Haraam of leaving their homes and Haraam of entering the Masjid in the state of Janaabat.
Imagine how Shaitaan has beautified a (mis)deed and made it look so ‘pious’. In the name of the misdeed, so many ladies might drive themselves. It is not allowed for ladies to drive.
May Allah Ta’ala safeguard our Imaan and grant us the correct understanding of the Shari’at, Aameen.
If the Sahaabah Radhiyallahu anhum who were so staunch in not allowing women to the Masjid for Fardh Salaah had to observe this Fitnah, what would they do?
