Qur’baani is a major Ibaadat which is enacted in commemoration of the supreme sacrifice which Hadhrat Nabi Ibraaheem (alayhis salaam) had made. He had offered his beloved son, Nabi Ismaaeel (alayhis salaam) for slaughter for the sake of Allah’s Love. It was a momentous occasion when Allah Ta’ala opened up the heavens to display to the Malaaikah the wonderful scene of Love which was being enacted on earth.
However, many people in our day are converting the Qur’baani occasion into a Haraam sport. Men and women party and picnic, making merry at the site where animals are being slaughtered for Qur’baani. Hijaab is flouted and the males prance about the show to impress the ladies.
The spirit of Qur’baani is furthest from the minds and hearts of the males who do the slaughtering. Instead of the spirit of Qur’baani permeating their heart, their focus is on the strange, Ghair-Mahram ladies exhibiting their finery in the admixture of Haraam human elements.
What they are doing is not Qur’baani. They engage in Nafsaaniyat in the guise of Qur’baani. It is Haraam for the ladies to be present at a gathering where there are Ghair- Mahram males. They should remember well that Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “A woman who applies perfume and passes by a gathering of males is like an adulteress.”
These dressified and perfumed Apas and Khalas should understand that their place is the home. They should not ruin the Ibaadat of Qur’baani with their unlawful presence at venues where it is not permissible for them to attend.
