Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said: “A person is on the creed of his friend. Therefore be cautious of who you befriend.” (Sunan Abi Dawood #4833)
Company makes a person or breaks a person. Often a person is good in himself, but the company he adopts spoils him and causes him to do the worst of wrongs. Hence it is imperative for us to ensure that we and our children always adopt good company.
We must remember that companions are not only humans we can talk to and laugh with. Websites and magazines, Social media and TV/Radio programmes are the new companions of the Modern Age. Therefore, refrain from every such “friend” who could destroy you.
