Hazrat Ibn Umar (Radhiyallahu anhu) narrates:
“Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: ‘When you see those who abuse my Sahaabah, then say (to them): (May) The la’nat (curse) of Allah be on your shirk.’ ” (Tirmizi, Mishkaat)
Commenting on this Hadith, the author Mullah Ali Bin Sultan Muhammad Al-Qaari, says in his Sharah Mirqaat: “This implies that their curse (or abuse) rebounds on them. They are the votaries of evil and mischief. On the other hand, the Sahaabah are the people of virtue who are deserving of the mercy and pleasure (of Allah).”
