Spring Souk

Question: Is it permissible for women to attend the Spring Souk. It is only for ladies and children.

Answer: All such merry-making functions and events which are dubbed ‘Islamic’ and have ‘Islamic’ slogans attached are not permissible to attend, even by ladies. 

Don’t look at who the organizers are, rather, see in the Light of the Shari’at if what is organized conforms to the teachings of the Deen or not.

The Qur’an Majeed commands women to remain in their homes. Women are only permitted to leave their homes for a valid need. A ‘Souk’, even if it is only for ladies, is not a valid need. It is rather an event of shopping and dropping. Therefore, calling women out of their homes in the name of a ‘Souk’ is not permissible in Deen.

May Allah Ta’ala save the Ummah from the Fitnahs of such modernized organizers who organize such events, Aameen.
