The Cry Of The Masaajid! I am astonished ….
I am astonished at the ‘Muslim’ who lamented the closure of our beloved Masaajid but has abandoned them upon its opening….
I am astonished at the ‘Muslim’ who diligently goes to work but cannot present himself in the
Masjid for salaah, whereas Allah has promised sustenance through Salaah…..
I am astonished at those who spend years ‘in Allah’s path’ making ‘effort on imaan and yaqeen’ that Allah ta’ala is the controller of all affairs but stay away from the masjid in fear of Covid…..
I am astonished at the ‘Muslim’ who does not mind standing alongside (impure) kuffaar in lines at malls and supermarkets but cannot stand ‘in line’ with (pure) fellow Muslims in the masjid…..
I am astonished at the ‘Muslim’ who can visit his Muslim brother’s home ‘for Allah’s sake’ but cannot visit the house of Allah for His pleasure…
I am astonished at the ‘Muslim’ who can present himself at a funeral home to grieve but has no grief about not presenting himself at the masjid to prepare for his own Aakhirah…..
We learn the following from the Ahaadeeth and our learned seniors:
- When Allah ta’ala wants to send down conditions upon a community then He looks at the condition of the Masaajid. If it is frequented by people then adverse conditions are averted from that community.
- When a person gets cut off from the masjid he gets cut off from Deen (religion).
- Abandoning the masaajid is the first step towards ‘irtidaad’ (leaving the fold of Islam).
- Salaah in congregation is one of the actions which will safeguard a person from punishment in the grave.
Abu Hurayrah narrates that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“The masaajid have certain pillars (consistent attendees) whom the angels [regularly] sit with; when they are absent, they (the angels) inquire about them; when they are sick, they visit them; when they are in need, they help them.”
[Narrated by Imam Ahmad (9424)]
May Allah ta’ala inculcate the love and importance of the Masaajid in our hearts and make us true ‘people of the Masjid’ not just in name but in action
