While the Haraam Souk is currently in progress in Durban in which plenty of absolute Haraam and sinful activities are committed, as we had come to know of last year’s Souk, with regards to music, the following severe warning from Rahmatul-lil-Aalimeen, Mustafaa Sallallahu alaihi wasallam is adequate for any sane Muslim to understand why such Haraam festivals, marriage conferences, Souks, Halaal nights etc. are Haraam.
Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (Radhiyallahu anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Listening to music and singing is sinful. Sitting at such gatherings is fisq (immoral transgression). Deriving pleasure from it is kufr.” (Nailul Autaar)
Remember, the Souks and other conferences host comedy shows and ‘Nasheed’ shows. In these ‘shows’, ‘Nasheeds’ are sung by Muslim performers in the presence of men and women. The concept of Hijaab is something alien to them and in the ‘Deen’ which they follow. Their ‘Deen’ is actually a westernised Deen with very little of proper Islamic practices. They don’t care with regards to the Law of Hijaab!
Imagine the severe warning of Rasulullah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam pertaining to listening to those so-called ‘Nasheeds’ in whose background there is music. And to be technical of the instrument which is used in the background of these ‘Nasheed’ shows of being permissible instrument/s etc. is a Shaitaani deception and Shaitaani influence in order to hoodwink us into legalizing all music.
Just look at the Mubaarak words of Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wasallam in this subject. He further warns the audience of such sinful activities and classifies them as committing Fisq–open transgression! And further, he warns those who are so blown off their heads at these ‘Nasheed’ shows in which the background has music and the words have Shi’ism–as was the case in one of the ‘Nasheed’ shows at the 2017 Souk–thereby deriving pleasure from it to be an act of Kufr!
Now, when the Ulama-e-Haq condemn this Haraam Souk and other similar Haraam events like the Haraam Marriage Conference which was held in 2017 and in which some unfortunate Molvis also had programs there, then the Ulama-e-Haq are branded by those same Molvis as well as the ignorant public. They are told of disuniting the Ummah. They are told of being extremists. They are told a mouthful of harsh sentences.
Whereas, in reality, they are merely saying what Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wasallam said! And that is the trademark of an Aalim of the Haq. He will utter the Haq, the message of the Qur’aan Majeed and the Mubaarak words of Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wasallam even if it may be bitter and unpalatable to the majority.
Therefore, before calling the Ulama-e-Haq names, think first! They are merely conveying the message of Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wasallam. If Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wasallam was alive with us today, what would the Haq-haters have said? Think! Don’t follow the majority, because even if the majority are on Baatil, it doesn’t change Baatil to Haq! Remember, the majority people are Kuffaar on earth. Does that mean Kufr is correct (Na’uthu-Billah) since majority are on the creed of Kufr?! Think before uttering and passing on messages criticizing the statements of Haq issued by the honourable Ulama of the Haq!
Indeed, the Ulama-e-Soo’ (modern and deviated Ulama) will be found at such Haraam venues like the Souks and Haraam Marriage Conferences etc. Their trademark is the opposite of the Ulama-e-Haq. Their trademark is to participate in such Haraam functions. No condemnation will come forth from them. Alas! This era is crowded with Ulama-e-Soo’!
They are not interested in forbidding and condemning the evils and open Haraam acts which are perpetrated on a daily basis by the ‘bleeding’ Ummah of Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wasallam. They behave same like the public in their eating ways, dressing styles and other acts. Worst is that some of these modern Ulama who are Soo’ play sports and support the Haraam football leagues etc. And even more lamentable is that some of them watch football and other sports on TV or live-stream on their cell phones!
It is difficult to identify as to who is an Aalim and who is a layman when they sit together in a group, because whatever the laymen do, the Aalim belonging to the Ulama-e-Soo’ fraternity, does the same!
May Allah Ta’ala safeguard us from the traps of Shaitaan, Nafs and from becoming Ulama who are modern and Soo’, Aameen.
