Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) addressed Hazrat Abu Zar Ghifaari (Radhiyallahu anhu) and said:
“O Abu Zar! If you go anywhere to learn one Aayat of the Qur’an, it is better for you than a hundred Rakaats (Nafl) Salaah; if you go anywhere to acquire one Law of the knowledge (of Deen), it is better for you than performing a thousand Rakaats (Nafl) Salaah, irrespective of whether you practised upon it (the knowledge) or not.” (Ibn Majah)
