UUCSA’s Moon Fitnah & Ml Bham’s Call To Delay Maghrib Salaah

UUCSA’s Moon Saga & Ml Bham’s Call To Delay Maghrib Salaah

QUESTION: Please comment on uucsa’s statements issued on the Eid Hilaal.

ANSWER: UUCSA should rather use their spare time to clear up their mess they made five years ago in the covid SCAM. Their going to court to beg the judge to keep the Masaajid doors SHUT on the faces of the Muslims is a scar on uucsa’s face to date. Instead of using their time to detail the moon for Eid, the altitude and degree, the chances and time lag, etc. they should use their time wisely and choose to clear their mess ups they made in the lockdown, especially regarding the Masaajid.

Until then, the Ummah should ignore ALL statements of UUCSA. The more statements they issue, the more Fitnah is caused in the Ummah. UUCSA’s, JUSA’s, MJC’s and ANY scholar and organization with similar mentality as theirs hold no Islamic credentials. Hence, their statements are redundant and should be ignored.

QUESTION: I have been sent Ml Bham’s voice note he addresses a Moulana in the Polokwane area, wherein he stresses that they delay Maghrib Salaah up to 30-mins in order to sight the Hilaal. This is based on Ml Bham saying that in his uucsa meeting, the new moon is likely to be seen in that region of the Moulana he addresses in his audio. Is it correct to delay the Maghrib Salaah as he said, that 10-mins is given for Iftaar, then 5-10 mins is used for Maghrib Salaah, so Maghrib must be delayed to sight the Hilaal.

ANSWER: It is incorrect to delay the Maghrib Salaah! Instead of opting for the following simple solution whereby one would need to sacrifice one’s Iftaar time of ‘10-mins’, as mentioned in the voice note by Ml Bham, the simple solution he should have offered, is:

  1. Upon the Maghrib Azaan, make Iftaar with dates and water.
  2. This Iftaar will be completed upon the completion of the Azaan!
  3. Immediately after Azaan, Maghrib Salaah should be offered, thereafter the horizon be scanned for the new moon. Simple!

In the above method, there’s no need to delay Maghrib Salaah up to ‘30-mins’! Rather, the Samoosas and Bhajyas need to be delayed to after the scanning of the horizon, which seems a bit too difficult to sacrifice. A Sunnah Iftaar with dates and water will enable one to scan the horizon without delaying Maghrib Salaah. The Sunnah Iftaar of dates and water is/was supposed to have been the Iftaar for ALL 29 DAYS of Ramadhaan! Ml Bham’s method of delaying Maghrib Salaah up to 30-mins, is very incorrect and should be totally ignored. In fact, there’s big question marks on the validity of the Hilaal sightings of Ml Bham and his like-minded scholars/organisations (i.e. UUCSA, JUSA, etc.).
