New Year Celebrations

New Year Celebrations – Beware!

Allah Ta’ala says: “For you is your religion and for me is mine.” (Kaafiroon)

Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) warned us of the following: “Whoever imitates a nation is from among them.” (Abu Dawood)

Regarding the crazy and un-Islamic New Year’s celebrations, the following should be noted:

  1. It is HARAAM to buy and sell fireworks
  2. It is HARAAM to use fireworks
  3. It is HARAAM to marvel and admire fireworks
  4. It is HARAAM to go out to spectate the usage and display of fireworks
  5. It is HARAAM to participate or use anything the KUFFAAR use to ‘celebrate’ New Year
  6. It is HARAAM to write ‘Happy New Year’ whether on one’s shop window or on social media
  7. It is HARAAM to say ‘Happy New Year’ even to KUFFAAR
  8. New Year’s countdown is un-Islamic, alien-to-Deen and HARAAM
  9. New Year celebrations come with wine, dine and swine as well as fireworks, Zina and dancing. Hence, MUSLIMS should NOT indulge in any New Year related celebration
  10. Even an Islamic New Year is NOT celebrated like how the KUFFAAR celebrate theirs, how then can MUSLIMS mimic the KUFFAAR?

It is mind-boggling to see how valuable money is turned into ash and pollution in the name of fireworks while hunger, poverty and unemployment are realities in every community of this country!
