The Interfaith Trap

Question: Some ulema are seen attending and endorsing interfaith ceremonies. Is an interfaith meeting valid, correct and halaal in our dien? Please comment on this as famous South African maulanas attend, deliver talks, etc. at such meetings.

Answer: Interfaith is condemned by Allah Ta’ala in the Qur’an Majeed. The Ulama-e-Haq echo this disapproval of Allah Ta’ala. Scholars attending and frequenting interfaith meetings are wrong. Their attending such evil meetings wherein KUFR is dinned into their ears and the audience’ ears is Haraam.

Excuses made by such scholars to justify their attending interfaith meetings are extremely flimsy and fragile – weaker than a spider web! The points used by scholars who approve and attend interfaith meetings are more politically related. To give their approval an Islamic flavour, some ‘Islamic’ points are used / misused as their proof. However, such proofs of theirs are very weak, rejected and are easily demolished by the Ulama-e-Haq.

Their common slogan of ‘co-existing’ and ‘Islamophobia’ is mindboggling. In the time of Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam), the Kuffaar came to offer Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) a type of an agreement which for understanding purposes, we shall call it ‘interfaith’. Their wish was that Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) stops speaking ill of their religion, gods, etc. This is exactly what happens in an interfaith – no member of any religion can criticize or is allowed to criticize another member’s religion! Surah Kaafiroon was revealed in order to scrap such nonsensical agreements (‘interfaith’).

Regarding the slogan of ‘Islamophobia’, the life of Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) immediately after Nubuwwat in Makkah Mukarramah is the rebuttal for this slogan. Nothing of Islam was permitted openly in Makkah Mukarramah. Not even Salaah in the Haram Shareef! The honourable Sahaabah (Radhiyallahu anhum) who had just accepted Islam, would secretly attend lessons learning from Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) by going away quietly into a dwelling called ‘Darul-Arqam’. There, Islam was learnt from Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam).

Neither did Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam), nor any senior Sahaabi say that since there’s much ‘Islamophobia’ let’s arrange an interfaith for the Kuffar to see that our Deen preaches peace, etc. And neither was there any such thought of arranging a type of an interfaith meeting hallucinated by anyone in Madinah Munawwarah, despite many Jihaad exhibitions took place in that Golden Era!

Interfaith is a bait of Shaitaan to snatch one’s Imaan! Don’t be trapped by this bait where one will risk losing one’s Imaan!
